Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Lycamobile has joined up with Australia's Telstra 2G Network to add Lycamobile's 10th market to Lycamobile's portfolio.

Australia is Lycamobile's 10th market and this expansion goes some way to meet Lycamobile's goal to serve 20 million customers by 2012.

By entering the Australian market, Lycamobile extends their existing markets comprising of:

  • Belgium;
  • Denmark;
  • Italy;
  • Netherlands;
  • Norway;
  • Spain;
  • Sweden;
  • Switzerland;
  • United Kingdom.

In their new market, Lycamobile continues to focus on low cost International calls including free Lycamobile to Lycamobile calls.

Australia's Telstra 2G network claims an Australian population coverage of 96%, which is good for Lycamobile customers.

Using a Lycamobile SIM card, customers are able to make quality, low cost, international calls without having to enter access codes or pin numbers which helps to keep making international calls quick and easy.

International calls are routed using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
