Vodafone and Gamma Telecom Reach MVNA Deal.

Vodafone has gained a deal with Gamma Telecom whereby Gamma Telecom partners will be able to operate as Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs).

The deal is a loss to the 3 Network which had held the deal with Gamma Telecom, for three years, until Gamma Telecom struck a deal with Vodafone.

The Vodafone and Gamma Telecom deal is a Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA) agreement which will mean that Gamma Telecom business partners will be able to become Mobile Virtual Network Operators.

This deal is the first MVNA deal for Vodafone which focuses on the Business Services market and is a loss for the 3 Network which held the deal until recently.

Gamma Telecom is a fixed line voice services provider who provides wholesale services to small- medium- enterprises.

Services are thought to begin in the second quarter of 2011.

Gamma Telecom partners will be able to become full Virtual Mobile Networks providing their own customers with mobile phone services using Vodafone's infrastructure.

The move to Vodafone, by Gamma Telecom, could bring as many as 30 000 voice and data connections to Vodafone from the 3 network.

Gamma Partners will be able to develop their own customer relationships, with control over their own tariffs, pricing ,and branding.

Gamma Telecom is looking for Partners who will be able to start up Virtual Mobile Networks.

Perhaps this will see any existing Virtual Mobile Networks who operated under Gamma Telecom also transfer to Vodafone with Gamma Telecom as well as see further additions to the Virtual Mobile Network Operator list with new MVNOs partnering with Gamma Telecom.

News article update, 04 February 2011:

Telecommunications service provider XLN, who made their Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) connections through Gamma Telecom when Gamma Telecom were working through the 3 Network, are believed to be about to migrate from 3 to rejoin Gamma Telecom who themselves moved to work with Vodafone.
